Here you will find the writings of the poet Theodore Waterfield

My Center

Why did it take
fourteen billion years
for my catastrophe to come?
Life and death.
That is the weight of eternity.
To throw a ball.
Catch a girl.
To be in love with the world
and mourn
the vanishing moment
of my life.

To embrace the embraceable.
Read the horoscope of forever
in the stars,
and wonder how small
small can be,
or large,
the atom of a universe,
and know
I would go mad without love,
mad without you,
at the center of my heart’s
fragility.
