Here you will find the writings of the poet Theodore Waterfield

An Embrace

Perhaps to gracefully say it
is not the way it’s made.
Does not resemble it
in the least.
The artist can never
embrace his art.
He belongs to what he sees.
The tree stands untouched.
The lips he draws
never feel his.
The words of his poem
will flutter in the air
and never be enough.
