{"id":1128,"date":"2011-02-04T02:20:35","date_gmt":"2011-02-04T01:20:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/w7m.3ee.myftpupload.com\/?p=1128"},"modified":"2011-02-04T02:20:35","modified_gmt":"2011-02-04T01:20:35","slug":"being-a-troublemaker","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theodorewaterfield.com\/?p=1128","title":{"rendered":"Being a Troublemaker"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I want to make trouble.<br \/>\nI want to jar you awake.<br \/>\nMake you question your hands.<br \/>\nAsk what is true and what is not?<br \/>\nWhy do I fidget and ignore my sadness?<br \/>\nWhy do I not understand<br \/>\nthe words the world gives me?<br \/>\nOr is it the other way around?<br \/>\nWhat are the things<br \/>\nI give words to?<br \/>\nWhy are there so many?<br \/>\nWhy do they come together<br \/>\nyet seem to fly apart?<\/p>\n<p>And I\u2019ll tell you I don\u2019t know.<br \/>\nI\u2019ll tell you that I love you,<br \/>\nand yet have no truth in me.<br \/>\nThat all my questions resolve nothing.<br \/>\nWhy do trees stand without voices?<br \/>\nWhy do rocks hold their dreams<br \/>\nin such firmness?<br \/>\nWhy does water assume all shapes,<br \/>\nand the night<br \/>\nhide what it passionately embraces?<br \/>\nWhy does silver shine like ice<br \/>\nbut never melt?<br \/>\nAnd why does ice cut so deep<br \/>\nyet disappear with tears?<br \/>\nWhat is so different about being human<br \/>\nand not a star?<\/p>\n<p>Again, I don\u2019t know.<br \/>\nThe hardest surface is the truth,<br \/>\nthe brightest light,<br \/>\nthe greatest joy,<br \/>\nthe most harrowing fear.<br \/>\nSo if you seek it,<br \/>\nwrite a poem.<br \/>\nBe a troublemaker.<br \/>\nBreak my heart<br \/>\nby showing how yours was broken.<br \/>\nAnd we\u2019ll do an anthology<br \/>\ndedicated to being true.<br \/>\nPerhaps,<br \/>\na book about being in love.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I want to make trouble.
