\nWhat combines genes and spirit?
\nWhat is, and what isn\u2019t?
\nI am rain and light,
\na pebble in a creek,
\nsometimes rainbow,
\nfor an instant,
\nthe weight of twenty feathers
\nfluttering.
\nAn avalanche of embraces
\nin a tree,
\nabsolute divinity of tears,
\nthe Pieta inside mothers.<\/p>\n
Off the scale meadow fields
\nladen down by flowers,
\nrunning legs measured
\nby a thousand miles,
\nand eyes tracing a universe
\nof stars,
\nseeing me.
\nTwenty million dreams
\nlighting up the atoms
\nin a drop of water,
\nthat much squandered
\ninto lakes and bogs,
\nwith poems put together
\nout of words.
\nIt\u2019s all part of me,
\na big part of you,
\nso much eternity
\nthe future can\u2019t hold it all,
\nprologue to a pedigree
