How do I introduce my poet?
\nHe keeps his own hours.
\nHe keeps to himself
\nbut loves parties.
\nHe hears people,
\noverhears people.
\nStares and falls in love,
\nall the while discussing politics.
\nWatches a smile on someone\u2019s face,
\na fluid, flowery river,
\nbut my poet stays alone,
\nevolving lifetimes in a moment,
\nwondering which lifetime
\nthey would choose,
\nto keep that smile.<\/p>\n
Strange things happen
\nin a poet\u2019s mind.
\nI never leave,
\nbut my poet flies away
\nand returns.
\nSo he wanders
\nfrom love, to hope,
\nto mystery,
\nstacking and balancing
\nwhat he sees, to what he feels.
\nI go along to where he is,
\nsometimes a poem
\nwanting to be heard,
