{"id":2419,"date":"2016-12-13T01:12:04","date_gmt":"2016-12-13T00:12:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/w7m.3ee.myftpupload.com\/?p=2419"},"modified":"2016-12-13T01:51:06","modified_gmt":"2016-12-13T00:51:06","slug":"lost-and-found","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theodorewaterfield.com\/?p=2419","title":{"rendered":"Lost and Found"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I thought I would never<br \/>\nfind my way back.<br \/>\nA shell on the beach,<br \/>\na piece of lint looking for its loom.<br \/>\nI thought I was lost,<br \/>\nput to sea on an oarless boat,<br \/>\nuprooted like an old tree,<br \/>\nnever meant to be moved.<br \/>\nThe road paved and straight,<br \/>\ndestiny woven into destiny,<br \/>\nlike time measured on a clock,<br \/>\ncertain and pure,<br \/>\nand then&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Fate with its wide smile,<br \/>\nits infinitesimal grin,<br \/>\nthe imp that washes our footprints away,<br \/>\nsaid, \u201cTed, it is time<br \/>\nto go into the open door of an abyss.<br \/>\nTo ascend to the sky without wings,<br \/>\nto walk on the firmlessness of the air,<br \/>\nto know there is no road<br \/>\nthat does not end,<br \/>\nno time that does not stop,<br \/>\nno light that does not leave darkness,<br \/>\nno soul that does not know its end<br \/>\nas well as its beginning.<\/p>\n<p>So I was cast adrift,<br \/>\nwithout job,<br \/>\nwithout friends,<br \/>\nwithout the child<br \/>\nwhose life shone like a shield,<br \/>\nsimply,<br \/>\nthat my hands must reach into the sea,<br \/>\nand feel the tide rise with a day,<br \/>\nand life must start over<br \/>\nmoment to moment,<br \/>\nsmile to smile,<br \/>\ntaking root where it can.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I thought I would never find my way back.
