\nthat could die
\ntaken from the water.
\nA word,
\na phrase,
\nflashes above the surface
\nand is snared.
\nBut a poem
\nshould not be
\na prisoner of words.
\nA poem is not a craft,
\nor a trick.
\nIt is a truth,
\nthat being true,
\nis beautiful.
\nPoems emerge from the heart.
\nIf caged by words,
\ncut it loose, and let
