{"id":2731,"date":"2016-04-17T01:01:29","date_gmt":"2016-04-17T00:01:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/w7m.3ee.myftpupload.com\/?p=2731"},"modified":"2016-04-17T21:47:13","modified_gmt":"2016-04-17T20:47:13","slug":"room","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theodorewaterfield.com\/?p=2731","title":{"rendered":"Room"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Which room in a house<br \/>\nis the most important room?<br \/>\nWhich room in the soul<br \/>\ndeserves a lock,<br \/>\nan open door,<br \/>\nthe sound of the world<br \/>\ncoming through its walls?<br \/>\nI opt for the kitchen,<br \/>\nfor the firm counter,<br \/>\nthe window looking on a garden or sea,<br \/>\nthe table rubbed with oil,<br \/>\nits brown grain sweet with sap,<br \/>\nthe hard firmness of summer,<br \/>\nthe humidity of August and roses.<\/p>\n<p>In the soul<br \/>\nI prefer the room without a ceiling,<br \/>\nwhere the sun comes through the thatch,<br \/>\nthe hovering humility of fog,<br \/>\nthe wide scan of the Milky Way,<br \/>\na tapestry showing the battle<br \/>\nof infinity with time.<br \/>\nA room covered with pictures<br \/>\nof the future and past,<br \/>\na chair to have tea,<br \/>\na place for a fire,<br \/>\nto make music and hear my voice<br \/>\nresonate from corners.<br \/>\nBut it would not be a kitchen,<br \/>\na room for berries, and sausages,<br \/>\nand bread.<\/p>\n<p>It would be a place of ungoing,<br \/>\nof being nowhere<br \/>\nto be everywhere,<br \/>\nwhere I could think<br \/>\nand not concern myself,<br \/>\nleave or stay forever.<br \/>\nIt is perhaps a choice of mood,<br \/>\nof where color goes and lies in purity,<br \/>\na room making itself into a haven,<br \/>\na place where we breathe easily,<br \/>\nand feel the world<br \/>\nbecome a planet for a moment,<br \/>\nto inhabit and love,<br \/>\nand be somewhere by ourselves,<br \/>\nor with others.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Which room in a house is the most important room?
