The citadel welcomes its warriors,

\nThe transparent elixir of life,
\nthe wine of baptismal purity.
\nSuch reconditeness flew
\nthrough my thoughts
\nwatching the priest
\nperform the ritual of entrance
\nto the shadow of God.<\/p>\n
The hum of the earth\u2019s mantra,
\nthe wind that blows over the lids
\nof earth and awakens its sleep.
\nBut are these poetic children
\nvalued for the price of their promise,
\nor the songs they will leave
\nat the altar of creation?
\nWith their hearts murmuring
\nthe transcendency of love,
\nand the smile that forgives death
\nits momentary silence,
\nwith the embrace of heaven\u2019s
