\nPlay with my grandchildren
\nand sleep in a strange bed.
\nGo by the ocean
\nwhich is not strange,
\nnever has been and never will be.
\nAnd watch people be themselves
\nin a new way.
\nLooking around, tasting loneliness,
\nloving home more than I know.<\/p>\n
We all have Shangri La inside us.
\nA lot of people have that in mind
\ngoing on vacation,
\npraying to find it.
\nWhere water is the cleanest
\ntaste in the world.
\nPeople look at you straight in the face
\nand you\u2019re not afraid.
\nThe sun is the biggest chrysanthemum
\nyou\u2019ve ever seen,
\nand nothing\u2019s wrong with you,
\nyour heart doesn\u2019t hurt,
\nand you see yourself in the morning
\nand see a friend in the mirror.<\/p>\n
That\u2019s what I look for on vacation.
\nWhat I try to buy.
\nWhat I think of packing my luggage.
\nAnd the little things I take with me.
\nA deck of cards,
\nBand-aids for cuts,
\nthe toothbrush,
\nand something particular
\nI can\u2019t do without,
\nas unique as we all are,
\nwhatever it is.
\nGoing on vacation
