I am going to walk away
\nfrom a street
\nthat suddenly confines me to
\na road that throws dust in the air!
\nI\u2019m going to sit on green grass
\nwhere no one needs a chair,
\nthe grass like a sea meadow.
\nLike the heart when it thinks of poetry.<\/p>\n
Everything fresh as a cool morning.
\nThat\u2019s where I\u2019m going
\nto fill a bowl with peaches,
\nand kiss each one
\nbefore I chew it up.
\nWhen the dish is empty
\nI\u2019ll fill it again,
\nand leave it behind
\nfor someone to see and taste,
\nto change them forever.<\/p>\n
And I\u2019ll laugh,
\nmore like a huh,
\nas if I played a joke
\nthat was meant to be lovely.
\nThen I\u2019ll go back
\nto where I was
\nand put on a tuxedo,
\nand deport my manners like a manicure,
\nand say hello to ladies
\nthat have the telltale blush of peaches
\non their cheeks,
\nand the color of cherries
