Something was terribly wrong
\nthis morning.
\nI looked into the vestige
\nof the mirror,
\nand saw someone else.
\nA man grown mature,
\nold,
\nquick with words and explanations.
\nIt was a seacoast of sorts,
\nrising from the water,
\nwith stones falling in the waves
\nlike burned out meteors.<\/p>\n
I trembled that I was so young.
\nSo new to this solitude.
\nA parallel place,
\nhere and there.
\nMy being confused by the
\nsenescence of a fragile body.
\nWondering why the world
\ncould not hold on to its joy.
\nPreserve its beautiful rapture.<\/p>\n
It is a heartache
\nto see children disappear.
\nOr,
\nperhaps,
\nnothing is over.
\nPerhaps,
\nit all comes back in the end,
\nand we live,
