How did I get here
\nfrom the small tributary
\nof my beginning?
\nWhere the lake reached
\ninto the sky,
\nand boats left with their sails.
\nHow many dishes were broken?
\nWho paid the rent
\nand bruised their knees?
\nWho lifted me into the branches
\nbefore I fell?
\nThe stars left no sign.
\nThe distance between childhood
\nand youth,
\nwas a meteor,
\nthat never touched earth.<\/p>\n
I have become many selves.
\nI can never find the one true self
\nanymore.
\nWinter has invaded me
\ntoo often.
\nBut watching leaves fall
\none by one,
\nlight appearing
\nwhere they left the sky.
\nI see a truth
\nbeyond life\u2019s consuming occupation,
\nthe joy of innocence
\nreturning,
