A note to myself
\nin a book of poems
\ndated July 29, 2006.
\nThe serendipity of chance.
\nThe anniversary of an epiphany.
\nIt read,
\nMichael rode bike
\nwithout training wheels.
\nDoes precocity have an angel?
\nAm I being reminded
\nwhat children do at 5 or 6?<\/p>\n
Michael performed an odyssey at
\nthree and a half.
\nNeighbors looked on amazed,
\nsave one, who understood class
\nas opposed to norm.
\nOh, that\u2019s just being Michael!
\nShe exclaimed.
\nMichael is an incomparable.
\nYes, Michael is just being Michael.
