\nThe wild fierceness of its control.
\nHe chooses what he wants.
\nHis overbearing strength belittles us.
\nNo matter our intelligence.
\nHe does not play that game.<\/p>\n
He gives no option to what his teeth
\nwould devour.
\nThere is a wild smell to his blood.
\nIt raises terror in the tender noses
\nof his prey.
\nOne does not negotiate with a tiger.
\nYou keep your distance.
\nYou envy the murder of his claws
\nand eyes.<\/p>\n
He is at the top of the hierarchy
\nthat dominates the world of wilderness.
\nOne could almost love a tiger
\nfor its confidence.
\nHe is a killer to the end.
\nNot a monster
\nbut a primeval power,
\nan avalanche,
\ncompared to the vanity of our pretensions
