\nis a very tough business.
\nThere are winners and losers,
\nand some just close shop,
\ndrop out,
\nsay the hell with it,
\nand go off begging.
\nThey frequently start new religions,
\nor give the established ones
\na bad name,
\nbut it\u2019s their choice
\nand that is part of the business.<\/p>\n
To be,
\nis really to make a statement.
\nTo put on clothes with a certain flair,
\nto hold a correct opinion,
\nor none at all.
\nTo rise with the sun
\nand declare the sun may rise.
\nIt is, I said,
\nall style,
\nlength of trouser,
\ncolor of socks,
\nto smile or not to smile,
\nto be seen for what you are,
\nor not be seen.<\/p>\n
To show a profile,
\nthat is what it is meant to be,
\nto exist,
\nto be truly existential.
\nHowever,
\nthere are times, days, occasions,
\nwhen to be is simply tough to be.
\nThat\u2019s when I take stock,
\npricing the cost of lodging,
\nthe size of the view,
\nand then make a tally
\nof how much is left.<\/p>\n
How much I should be keeping,
\nwhether the time remaining
\nshould be consumed
\nor left as a tip.
\nDid I give enough of myself
\nso no one complained,
