{"id":390,"date":"2010-05-24T16:44:39","date_gmt":"2010-05-24T15:44:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/w7m.3ee.myftpupload.com\/?p=390"},"modified":"2010-05-24T16:44:39","modified_gmt":"2010-05-24T15:44:39","slug":"day-for-which-i-have-no-poem","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theodorewaterfield.com\/?p=390","title":{"rendered":"Day For Which I Have No Poem"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Perhaps it is not meant for me<br \/>\nto write a poem today.<br \/>\nTo come with no offering, no tribute.<br \/>\nThe day, which composes itself<br \/>\nso perfectly,<br \/>\nso full of light and air and sound.<br \/>\nSo full of rainbows, shadows,<br \/>\neffortlessly<br \/>\nand it is given to me, no charge.<br \/>\nNo contrition necessary.<\/p>\n<p>Whether I cry or shout,<br \/>\nor hold my breath,<br \/>\nit offers itself.<br \/>\nIt does what it does.<br \/>\nSo I am in love.<br \/>\nI want to give it my heart, my soul.<br \/>\nI want my hands on its lips,<br \/>\nday that kisses everything.<br \/>\nI want it to hear my thoughts,<br \/>\nmy rejoicing.<\/p>\n<p>Day that sings and speaks in cadence,<br \/>\nand holds its silence,<br \/>\nand never says too much<br \/>\nor too little,<br \/>\ntoo loud or too soft.<\/p>\n<p>Day that wants me to hold it,<br \/>\nand caress it,<br \/>\nand wage war,<br \/>\nand climb trees,<br \/>\nwaits for me and never leaves.<br \/>\nStands silently if I remain silent,<br \/>\nand gives me a shadow.<\/p>\n<p>Day that shows me everything,<br \/>\nbut only if I wish.<br \/>\nOnly if I need to see,<br \/>\nto ache,<br \/>\nto run.<\/p>\n<p>Day that owns me and lets me alone.<br \/>\nSo if I cannot write a poem,<br \/>\nit is not for lack of love,<br \/>\nor words,<br \/>\nor desire.<br \/>\nPerhaps it\u2019s trying to catch up with beauty,<br \/>\nthe sky,<br \/>\nshining inside me.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Perhaps it is not meant for me to write a poem today.
