Winter, so austere

\nMy breath labored
\nin the cold.
\nThe light rinsed
\nwithout warmth,

My eyes wandered
\nalong the edge of the walk,
\nand, so happens,
\nwhen a face stops
\nand sees you
\nin the mirror of a window,
\nor
\nsomething beautiful
\ncatches your eyes.<\/p>\n
I saw a yellow crocus
\nbright as a chaste sun
\nat dawn
\nby my step,
\nand I felt light
\nas a feather
\nas if it were a kiss
\nthat was mine for seeing.
\nUn-intentioned,
\nthe simplicity of life
\nwanting love,
\nand finding a bouquet
