{"id":631,"date":"2010-09-03T02:41:26","date_gmt":"2010-09-03T01:41:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/w7m.3ee.myftpupload.com\/?p=631"},"modified":"2010-09-03T02:41:26","modified_gmt":"2010-09-03T01:41:26","slug":"holding-hands","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theodorewaterfield.com\/?p=631","title":{"rendered":"Holding Hands"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Children hold each other<br \/>\nsometimes in ways we forget.<br \/>\nWorld over, children are a universal city.<br \/>\nLove is a very natural thing to them,<br \/>\nand they show it by holding hands.<br \/>\nBy being themselves<br \/>\nand saying to each other<br \/>\nwe\u2019re connected.<br \/>\nI walked with my twin brother<br \/>\nlike that once.<br \/>\nI held my girl\u2019s hand like that.<br \/>\nThere was this warm place between us.<br \/>\nWe belonged together.<\/p>\n<p>Whatever holds the world together,<br \/>\nit\u2019s in our fingers, our palms,<br \/>\nand we were talking there,<br \/>\nwithout words.<br \/>\nLike those real quiet mornings<br \/>\nwhen the streets are a layered cake,<br \/>\nsilver and light,<br \/>\nwith a blue frosting on the top.<\/p>\n<p>When the berries of a pie kiss each other,<br \/>\neach belonging to the other<br \/>\nand you feel them on your fork<br \/>\nas they land on your tongue,<br \/>\nand you\u2019re not ashamed to think,<br \/>\nthis is the best way<br \/>\nI ever ate a pie,<br \/>\nor been with you.<br \/>\nKissing with our fingers,<br \/>\nthe juice of life between us<br \/>\nbeautiful and sweet.<br \/>\nYou never forget something like that<br \/>\nno matter how often you taste it.<br \/>\nLike opening a window<br \/>\nand feeling the morning come in.<br \/>\nSavannah,<br \/>\nall sweet and good,<br \/>\nand loving someone<br \/>\nby holding hands and never letting go.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Children hold each other sometimes in ways we forget.
