Yesterday,
\nI found a Praying Mantis
\nin the garden.
\nLike a priestess saying vows.
\nShe was regal
\nin her four inch length
\nsomber and proud.
\nI\u2019d looked for her.
\nI\u2019d seen her weeks old
\nas small as a tiny twig
\nin June,
\nand then the months passed
\nwithout a sign of her
\nuntil now.
\nI feel an odyssey has happened.
\nA summer passed
\nand tarnished itself with light.<\/p>\n
Now,
\non a begonia leaf
\nin devotions,
\nboth of which we share,
\nI feel the little dance
\ninside her heart,
\nand knew
\nfrom time to time
\nuntil the frost
\nwe will greet each other
\nin the shadows of the day,
\nand falling twilight of the year,
\nand I hoped
\nas time goes on,
\nanother odyssey
