{"id":823,"date":"2010-10-20T22:38:38","date_gmt":"2010-10-20T21:38:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/w7m.3ee.myftpupload.com\/?p=823"},"modified":"2010-10-20T22:38:38","modified_gmt":"2010-10-20T21:38:38","slug":"house-in-my-heart","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theodorewaterfield.com\/?p=823","title":{"rendered":"House in My Heart"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I\u2019m going outside.<br \/>\nTo the house in my heart.<br \/>\nWhere a clock finds its time<br \/>\nin tree boughs and light.<br \/>\nIts lintels are above a door<br \/>\nto a maple grove,<br \/>\nwith broad bay windows<br \/>\non a meadow.<\/p>\n<p>Great brown beams lift the ceiling<br \/>\nabove its walls,<br \/>\nthey have held against wind<br \/>\nand hail,<br \/>\nand only let the sun and rain<br \/>\nenter through their panels<br \/>\nin the sky.<\/p>\n<p>Verandas border the house<br \/>\nletting the air of spring and summer<br \/>\nventilate the rooms,<br \/>\nand the rooms have murals of<br \/>\nfar away hills,<br \/>\nand imaginal stars at night,<br \/>\nand contain or move their walls<br \/>\naccording to the space the<br \/>\nheart requires.<\/p>\n<p>The kitchen has the smell of fruit,<br \/>\nthe nuance of wines and sauces,<br \/>\nall held on racks of branches<br \/>\nfor maximum freshness<br \/>\nand garnishes of color in spring.<br \/>\nThe clear, transparent trickling of water<br \/>\nfull of mineral flavor<br \/>\nflows on the rocks of the sink.<\/p>\n<p>The furniture throughout the house<br \/>\nis for the weary,<br \/>\nwith cushions of grass,<br \/>\nantique carts to sit in,<br \/>\nrock with dimensions to adjust<br \/>\nto your own.<\/p>\n<p>Tables set to the ground<br \/>\nwith planks of old pine and walnut,<br \/>\nand demitasse posts for a glass<br \/>\nor can.<br \/>\nArtifacts set here and there<br \/>\nwith flawless attention to space and color.<br \/>\nA beautiful house that stays<br \/>\nwith time, and changes with the seasons.<br \/>\nA place where the heart heals,<br \/>\nthe eyes clear,<br \/>\nand to which the world is invited<br \/>\nany time it wishes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I\u2019m going outside.
