Here you will find the writings of the poet Theodore Waterfield

Spring Hike

Jackie follows
the silhouettes of birds,
dark flocks,
in the early spring of woods.
He listens to the breathing
of the wind,
and the whirlwind of his breathing,
both joined in flying.

When you are just
there is a presence
that talks to you,
on the trail
and something following.
Wayside, youth beckoning,
a story being told
of both of us in going,
life on the trail living,
one wing, youth,
the other,
destiny arriving.
