Beyond Words

Things write themselves inside me.
I find words in bushes,
in a sandbox of roads and bridges.
They come and go like imaginary friends.
They have their own reality.
They have unblemished faces.
They pour from a chamber in my heart.
They are the sound of an inaudible silence,
shouting in my soul.
I am surrounded by their arms.
They adorn the faces
of everything around me.
I walk in the valley of words.
They breathe with hands
that touch the earth,
and return with poetry.
