The book The House of the World has been nominated for the Pulitzer Prize and is now available on Amazon.

One You

Life goes on
second by second,
hoarding its days and years.
Of all its riches
we can consume
only one meal at a time.
So I’ll eat one apple
from the hoard of a tree,
and let the worms and caterpillars
have the rest.

If your face can be counted
there is only you.
A breath I breathe.
One life
that keeps me alive,
timepiece of my heart.
You have
no parallel world.
No sky separate from your own.
In all time
you are a link
forged to forever.
Where you sleep,
I will sleep.
