Here you will find the writings of the poet Theodore Waterfield

Many Nights

Many nights
I want to go up
and lie down beside you.
That would be enough
to make my day.
To use my life most perfectly.
To fill the cup of happiness.
The warmth of you
is like no other warmth.
I feel a great sob
holding you,
like a dream
greater than any reality.

I feel like a leaf
rocking on the water,
as if I fell from a great tree
living inside you.
I am a house
made only of windows
attached to your walls,
where I cling like a child
to your breast,
and grow like an alpine flower
praising you
with the iron will of my petals,
to live forever
with the fragile deity
of your eyes
looking upon me.
