Here you will find the writings of the poet Theodore Waterfield

Intention

A man knocks on his own mystery.
Wants to touch the woodwork in himself.
Find out where his walls and doors are,
and come back and think for a while.
Something needs to show itself.
Find its place.
Wonder how the wind blows through him.
Is that what I intended?
This person who lives in me.

How much have I learned of anything?
Did God say, let him go.
See what happens.
Now, wouldn’t that be nice?
A way to understand things.
A world bigger than I can fill.
Big enough to find a place
if I want.
What I want more than anything
is to love,
and be in love,
the way God might do it.
