From the rain
that dropped decades ago
comes this pinnacle.
This tree bridges a deep chamber
with the empty glass of the sky.
Like it,
I have discovered age
traveling through my trunk.
Walls of a poignant ache.
How close our waking and sleeping.
Wind that moves our branches.
The bark of our skin
weathered with time.
We dropped seeds,
lived through the days.
I raised my arms in gratitude.
The tree touched the horizon
and gave its shade away.
I gave away my songs.
Together,
we raised our arms to life,
with love.
